China Notary Help

City guide · Guilin, Guangxi

Guilin police certificate, from overseas.

Guilin’s notarial guide gives foreign-resident evidence requirements and makes clear that online pre-screening can still lead to an original-document check.

Checked 13 October 2026For foreign residents & former residents

Your local application route

The Guilin Notary Office’s published platform guide directs foreigners to the notary at their last place of residence. A foreign applicant supplies proof of at least half a year in China and police-issued residence and criminal-record evidence.

Who may be eligible

  • The office’s foreign-applicant guidance refers to residence in China of at least half a year. The police stage still needs its own jurisdiction and residence-history check.
  • A Chinese citizen’s hukou and hukou-cancellation checklist is a different category. Those records are not automatically required from someone who has always been a foreign citizen.

A tourist visa, residence permit and temporary accommodation registration are different records. If your stay included several statuses or cities, explain the timeline before relying on a single certificate.

Documents to prepare

  • Passport and the relevant China residence history.
  • Police-issued evidence of residence and no criminal punishment / criminal-record result, in the format the office accepts.
  • Power of attorney and representative’s identity document for delegated work; additional evidence if the notary cannot establish the requested fact.

Applying from outside China

A representative is described in the notarial guide. The platform also describes showing originals when collecting the notarial certificate. Online submission therefore does not establish an entirely scan-only route for someone abroad.

Notarization, translation & Apostille

Confirm the receiving country, language and precise notarial statement before issuance. Translation, verification of a translation and additional copies can be separate items. An Apostille is assessed after the receiving authority’s instructions are known.

How we help with your application

  1. Confirm that Guilin is the relevant last-residence notarial jurisdiction.
  2. Confirm the foreign PCC counter and obtain the required police evidence.
  3. Arrange authorization, notarial pre-screening and an accepted method of original verification.
  4. Check the issued package, agreed authentication stages and international delivery.

Questions before you apply

Will copies alone be enough for a Guilin application?

Confirm the police and notarial stages separately. A local community checklist describes copies for some records, but the notary’s published platform also describes original verification at collection. We reconcile the requirements for your exact route before arranging delivery.

Could the notary ask for a photo holding my authorization?

A local Guilin checklist describes this for delegated work. It remains an office-specific lead to verify, not a universal instruction. Wait for a request explaining the purpose, recipients and transmission channel before providing the photo.

Before you sign or courier anything

  • Which Exit-Entry office currently accepts this historical foreign stay?
  • How will the police and notary verify originals, and is a holding-authorization photo needed for this route?
  • What overseas authorization formalities and notarial statement does the recipient require?

Send the receiving authority’s document instructions with personal identifiers removed. We use them to agree the required dates, language, number of copies and delivery format before commissioning work.
