Shanghai provides a representative route for applicants abroad. We assess your residence-permit history and Shanghai connection, then coordinate the authorization and municipal or district Exit-Entry filing appropriate to your case.

How we help with your Shanghai PCC

An overseas Shanghai application has its own authorization and collection requirements. We help you prepare the correct package and coordinate the local stages after the scope is agreed.

1. Tell us your Shanghai residence dates, permit history, available records and the document your recipient needs.
2. We assess the local eligibility and explain the required original authorization, applicable authentication, supporting records and written quote.
3. You prepare the agreed authorization and requested evidence. We coordinate local filing, any additional requests and authorized collection using the required original receipt.
4. We check the issued details and arrange the agreed notarial document, translation, any required outbound authentication and delivery.

Who may be eligible

• The FAQ refers to at least 180 days in China with a residence permit, and a permit issued in Shanghai or actual residence there during that period.
• Keep a timeline of residence permits, Shanghai accommodation registrations and the periods the receiving authority needs checked.

A tourist visa, residence permit and temporary accommodation registration are different records. If your stay included several statuses or cities, explain the timeline before relying on a single certificate.

Documents to prepare

• The in-China applicant route lists original passports and residence permits for the period, Shanghai accommodation registration copy, and a form completed on site.
• The overseas route lists an original authorization notarized where you live, then Apostille or consular authentication where applicable, and a copy of the passport biographical page used during the Shanghai stay.
• The representative provides their original ID and a copy. Collection through a representative requires the original application receipt.

Applying from outside China

For an applicant abroad, we check the proposed representative, authorization wording, required authentication and any Chinese translation before you prepare the original. We explain the required passport copies and supporting records, then coordinate filing and collection through the accepted route.

Notarization, translation & Apostille

The overseas authorization formalities establish authority to apply in China. They do not automatically supply a notarial certificate or Apostille for the Chinese PCC that will later be used abroad. Agree those outbound stages separately.

Questions before you apply

Should I automatically courier my passport from overseas?

Confirm your own route first. The official FAQ separates original identity records for in-China filing from the passport-copy and original-authorization package described for applicants abroad. Do not send a passport based only on another applicant’s experience.

Do all applicants need extra portrait photos or an employer letter?

We request those only if the office handling your case identifies a need. A general online checklist is not enough to establish that every applicant must supply them.

Does overseas use always mean I need an Apostille?

Confirm the receiving authority’s document instructions. The authentication of a foreign authorization for filing in China is a separate question from any authentication of the Chinese PCC for use abroad.

Before you sign or courier anything

• What additional residence evidence is needed if a passport or registration is missing?
• Is a Chinese translation required for the foreign authorization package?
• What period and passport number will the finished certificate show?

Send the receiving authority’s document instructions with personal identifiers removed. We use them to agree the required dates, language, number of copies and delivery format before commissioning work.
